Your guide to Magnolia Market at the Silos

When you’re in the business of gift-giving, shopping excursions become an all-out hunt for life’s little extravagances — and we’re especially hawk-eyed for all things home décor.

After a weekend-long HGTV binge-fest (and subsequently rearranging our furniture), we decided to take a road trip to Magnolia Market at the Silos, where Chip and Joanna Gaines of the hit show, Fixer Upper, have brought new life to an old grain mill smack-dab in the heart of downtown Waco, Texas.

Since opening their doors in the fall of 2015, the market has been a one-stop destination for shopping, food, and leisure. The market itself is designed with one goal in mind — to inspire you to own the space you’re in. Knowing the Gaines’ knack for taking properties from rundown to stunning and our obsession with their farmhouse modern vibe — we were ready to swoop in and explore their fresh mix of upscale lifestyle products.

Upon arrival, we are greeted by the rustic charm of two original silos overlooking a great lawn where kids are encouraged to go wild, playing time-honored games of cornhole and potato sack racing. Gourmet food trucks (think: Cheddar Box for grilled cheese, Co-Town Crepes, and Luna Juice Bar) are surrounded by organic gardens, a garden shop, a bakery, and Magnolia’s main draw, the market — a grain barn turned home design boutique warehouse, which we bee-lined for.

Inside the converted barn, the market is a collection of exquisitely curated studios featuring vintage inspired kitchen wares, vibrant faux florals, charming paper goods and timeless décor pieces. Their products are clean and simple and easily integrate into a myriad of interior styles — like their galvanized picking baskets with corrugated metal for an industrial flair and rustic touch to any table top, among the many items that made us swoon.

In the garden, visitors can enjoy a massive wooden teepee, roam around raised beds sprouting seasonal produce, and shop everything they didn’t know they needed for yards and patios inside the garden shop, Magnolia Seed and Supply. Build your own fairy garden with miniature cottages, wheelbarrows, and bird baths or bring the outside in with terrariums, hanging macramé planters, and sculptural flower vessels.

As the day came to an end, we knew we couldn’t leave without sampling a few goods from Magnolia’s own, Silos Baking Co. grabbing their signature “Magnolia Cookie” and the renowned bacon and cheddar biscuit, “The Prize Pig”, to eat beneath the late afternoon shade of the silos. Ready to hit the road, we swung by the Common Grounds truck for an iced-coffee, and our five-star mission was complete.

If a trip to the market is geographically out of reach, fear not. We’ve rounded up a list of our favorite Magnolia products to get you inspired.
